After hours of talking,
Holding hands,
Walking,
Wind blowing gently through the summery night air,
Teasing our noses with the sweet smell of flowers
And adding clarity to the haziness in our minds
We glide to the edge of the boardwalk.
One glimpse of the sun fading into the ocean
And we froze
As if winter had suddenly taken its toll.
You straightened your posture
As if to impress the picturesque scene before us
And wrapped your arm around my waist
My head fit perfectly into your shoulder.
Everything surrounding us seemed to slow down
and fall away
The quiet engulfing our ears
And even the crickets stopped chirping
So as to not disturb anything that could possibly
start the world turning again around us
I slowed my breath to match yours
And we became as one
One mind.
One thought.
Silenced in the presence of romantic perfection...

'Even if the sun refused to shine... even if romance ran out of rhyme... you would still be in my heart until the end of time...'
